About

 Why Wisdom and Righteousness?

Over the last number of years, it has been pressed upon my heart the desire to stitch our lives into “one-piece”.  Similar to the one-piece cloth which had no seams that mothers of long ago made for their sons, I wanted our lives to have no distinction between “sacred” and “secular” – no division between “religion” and the “real world”.

And so, the pursuit of our own “one-piece life” started.  When we decided to educate our children at home, I wanted to have a specified direction and vision for our family – a vision that would be the measuring grid when we came upon diverging paths and needed to know what direction to take.  When I dug into the Word of God, I was continually faced with the idea that all wisdom comes from God, and that knowledge without wisdom leads to ruin.  I also read over and over again about how God credits our faith with righteousness – but not just a believing faith, but a faith like Abraham with Isaac on the altar – an active faith – one that demonstrates itself through following the Lord’s will, and not our own.  These are the two cornerstones we desire in our children’s lives.  Wisdom from God, to know how to best approach a situation, to evaluate things clearly and accurately – and Righteousness, to actively pursue Christ and His will for our lives.  The pursuit of Wisdom and Righteousness was born, and we are journeying down the road marked before us (Hebrews 12)….

Psalm 37:30-31 & 39-40

30 The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom,
and his tongue speaks what is just.
31 The law of his God is in his heart;
his feet do not slip.

39 The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
40 The LORD helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.

Who Am I?

I am a woman who is learning daily that the best way to handle life’s challenges is to lay them at the foot of the cross. I love spending time with my husband and taming the four tornados that run around the house, filling my heart with song and my sink with dishes. In the early morning hours, you may find me blogging for the pure enjoyment of sharing what God is teaching me and the hope that it touches others’ lives as well.
